Outline Route Descriptions

25 Mile Route

Leaving HQ, riders go to Sandridgebury then Wheathampstead by the back lanes. Leaving Wheathampstead, riders go to Codicote, then Rabley Heath (checkpoint). Riders turn immediately left along the edge of Knebworth, then left to Nup End. Riders then turn right along Hitchen Lane then cross the B656 (right then immediate left) into Three Houses Lane. Riders continue along Three Houses Lane until turn right at T-Junction, down the hill to Hoo Farm and left-turn along private road to Kimpton. From Kimpton, riders proceed up Ballslough Hill to Gustard Wood cross-roads, left to Wheathampstead. Riders then retrace their tyre tracks back to the HQ.

33 Mile Route

As for 25 mile route to checkpoint at Rabley Heath, along Three Houses Lane and to Hoo Farm. Riders continue straight on to Whitwell and proceed through Whitwell village (taking care around cars parked on the left-hand side of the road). At exit to Whitwell, left-turn at the Village Hall to Bendish. At Bendish, route rejoins the 44 and 64 mile routes and proceeds through the lanes to Peters Green (checkpoint). After the checkpoint, the routes goes to Kimpton Bottom, Gustard Wood and Wheathampstead. Riders then retrace their tyre tracks back to the HQ.

44 Mile Route

As for the 25 mile route to Rabley Heath (checkpoint) and Three Houses Lane. In Three Houses Lane, riders turn right to Easthall, Shilley Green and on to Preston (checkpoint). Riders then proceed to Great Offley where the ride turns back south along Lilley Bottom Road then right (up steep hill) to Bendish. The route then proceeds through the lanes to Peters Green (checkpoint). As for the 33 mile route back to the HQ.

64 Mile Route

As for the 25, 33 and 40 mile routes to Rabley Heath (checkpoint). Then, Woolmer Green, Watton at Stone, Whempstead, Dane End, Great Munden, Ardeley, Graveley, Great Wymondley, St Ippolyts, Gosmore and Preston (checkpoint). As for the 44 and 33 mile routes back to HQ.
